The Parade's Plot
Imagine a magical Halloween celebration at Disneyland Paris, where the enchanting mini-parade “Mickey's Halloween Celebration” brings the festivities to life! This spectacular carnival procession first enchanted audiences on October 1, 2013, and has since become a beloved part of the park's autumn traditions.
The Parade History
The Halloween-themed show was so impressive and inspiring that in 2016, Hong Kong Disneyland introduced its own version—”Mickey's Halloween Time Street Party.” This festive tradition has become a delightful gift for Disney fans all around the globe.
In Paris, Mickey's Halloween Celebration is recreated every year, except for special occasions like 2017 when the park celebrated its 25th anniversary. The mini-parade features three exciting performances each day, though sometimes nature might bring surprises that require schedule changes.
The Parade Route
The parade lasts a magical 20 minutes, starting its grand march in Fantasyland near the enchanting “It's a Small World” attraction. The characters then move to Central Plaza, home to the majestic Sleeping Beauty Castle, where they perform a fantastic show for all to see. After five mesmerizing minutes on four central stages, the characters return to their starting point, parading down Main Street in anticipation of concluding this amazing festive tale. The spectacular mini-parade concludes at Town Square, near the entrance and exit of Disneyland Park, leaving all visitors spellbound by the Halloween magic and unforgettable memories.
What Floats Can You See?
Mickey's Halloween Celebration at Disneyland Paris transports guests into a whimsical world of harvest joy and festivities, a tradition commonly celebrated in the United States and Canada. This annual event aligns with the harvest season across different countries and regions, and it transforms into something truly magical when it comes to life in the fairy-tale setting of Disneyland Paris.
Daisy Duck, Donald Duck, and Friends
Leading the enchanting parade is Daisy Duck, elegantly portraying Miss Harvest and perfectly embodying the autumn season. Accompanied by five dancers in vibrant fall colors, they transform the parade into an unforgettable spectacle. The cheerful theme song “Vive La Vie” plays, filling the air with infectious joy!
Right behind her is the first float of the parade, showcasing a rustic village theme. Donald Duck takes center stage on this unique float, with Scrooge McDuck at the back. Surrounding the float are four dancers dressed as colorful corn cobs, adding to the festive atmosphere.
This year's Halloween magic brings an exciting update to the parade. Goofy and Max, dressed in authentic Western outfits, join the cheerful procession for the first time. Their participation brings a fresh breeze of change, replacing the Three Little Pigs on the stage. Goofy and Max not only greet guests in Wild West style but also take part in one of the four exciting scenes played out on Central Plaza. These friends add many bright moments and joyful memories to this unique Halloween parade.
Winnie the Pooh and Friends
Next, it's time for the second festive float, led by four dazzling dancers in picturesque pumpkin costumes and two equally captivating characters—Clarabelle Cow and Horace Horsecollar. This duo brings nostalgic memories and opens the door to other magical worlds.
On the float behind them are characters from “Winnie the Pooh.” Pooh, Rabbit, Tigger, Piglet, and Eeyore are there, surrounded by Jack-o'-lanterns, mushrooms, hay bales, and a spooky tree in the background. Four “mushroom” dancers join them, completing the magical procession of the Hundred Acre Wood.
Minnie Mouse and Friends
The next float features a cornucopia, symbolizing abundance, prosperity, and a bountiful harvest. Known as the “horn of plenty” since classical antiquity, it represented the richness of nature and well-being, overflowing with fruits, vegetables, grains, and flowers.
This float, reminiscent of the harvest season, showcases images of corn cobs, pumpkins, grape clusters, red berries, nuts, and sunflowers surrounding Minnie Mouse, who leads the way. On the other side, you’ll find the dynamic Chip and Dale, accompanied by the lovely Clarice. This part of the parade concludes with four dancers embodying the spirit of sunflowers, adding incredible fun and brightness to this unique show. These moments make Mickey’s Halloween Celebration at Disneyland Paris unforgettable and inspiring for all its guests.
Mickey Mouse and Friends
In 2018, the Halloween magic returned to Disneyland Paris, bringing with it the impressive new float, Mickey's Illusion Manor. This event was part of Mickey Mouse's 90th birthday celebration, as this cheerful character was created on November 18, 1928.
Mickey's Illusion Manor is a fantastic blend of magic and mystery, inspired by the atmosphere of the Phantom Manor attraction in Frontierland. The float invites guests into a world of illusions and mysteries, where they can meet characters from the “haunted house,” including Melanie Ravenswood, known as the Bride, and her father, the ghost Henry Ravenswood. The eerie zombies surrounding the float add to the spooky Halloween atmosphere.
The grand parade ends with a touch of fright as the magnificent skeletons bring a hint of horror to the festivities. The triplets Huey, Dewey, and Louie, dressed as little devils, add humor and an unexpected twist. But the star of the show is Mickey Mouse himself! Appearing in various costumes at different stages of the parade—purple, green, and red—he ensures fun and variety.
Performance at Central Plaza
After the mysterious performances on the float, parade participants head to Central Plaza, where they present a short but impressive dance number before continuing their route. The arrangement and sequence of this magical event can change, creating a unique experience and mystery for every guest attending the celebration.
